Position Overview

This role provides HR generalist support for assigned client groups including marketing, digital, IT and creative services; serves as a trusted advisor and business/thought partner to management on talent and organization effectiveness; is committed to building a diverse workforce and accelerating the performance, growth and development of CR and its employees. The Director contributes to shaping talent strategies and enterprise-wide initiatives that aim to engage, align, develop and retain the necessary talent to achieve CR’s strategic goals.  




Qualifications Include

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of HR generalist experience ideally in a media, publishing or technology organization or supporting revenue and creative teams..  


  • Adaptable, analytical and creative with strong communication skills.  Able to present information and support decision making through effective data analysis and storytelling capabilities.


  • Strong HR and business acumen with demonstrated success serving as a true HR business partner to leadership and trusted advisor to staff.


  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.  Ability to quickly establish and build effective partnering relationships, maintain confidences, appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information, and inspire trust.  


  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and lead and work with urgency in the midst of a significant business/organizational transformation.


  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing talent strategies that support culture, acquisition/retention, diversity, and other organizational  goals.


  • Strong technical skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide human resources generalist support with an emphasis on organizational effectiveness and design, employee relations and engagement, performance management, talent assessment and development, and contribute to shaping the culture and facilitating new ways of working together.
  • Build effective relationships with staff at all levels.  Serve as a key business partner to management and a trusted advisor and coach to all.
  • Continually ensure talent is optimized, resources are aligned with strategic goals and priorities, and departments/teams are organized effectively to execute the strategy.  
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to integrate, align, develop and engage staff in executing CR’s strategic plan and a prioritized set of annual operating initiatives.
  • Maintain an effective level of business and functional knowledge to proactively influence, educate, and implement change, as well as build and retain a diverse, high performing workforce.
  • Deliver appropriate coaching and development feedback to help managers become more effective and progressive leaders and understand their role in enhancing the employee experience.
  • Partner with HR specialists in talent acquisition, talent development, labor relations, and total rewards to provide talent solutions to attract, onboard, develop and retain talent.
    • Work with talent acquisition to identify, assess, select and onboard talent.
    • Partner with learning and development to design and deliver customized training and organization-wide learning programs for individuals and teams.
    • Serve as program lead for assigned client group for performance management, goal setting and compensation planning , including facilitating communications, training, coaching, and process/system support.
    • Collaborate with labor relations expert to anticipate, avoid and resolve labor and employee relations challenges/grievances at the individual and organizational levels.
    • Work with compensation expert to implement salary planning and recognition programs, and develop job descriptions for new, existing, and promotional opportunities.
