Position Overview

The HR team at Consumer Reports help to develop and implement programs and solutions to empower our greatest resource- our employees. 


The Associate partners with and provides direct support to our HR Business Partner team, handling the administration of HR programs and coordinating activities with the HR specialist functions.


This fast paced role requires attention to detail, a willingness to find solutions, discretion, and a sense of humor.


Qualifications Include

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, as well as one year of prior office experience preferably within Human Resources
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Documents, Sheets, Slides, and Forms), and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience with HRIS and other HR systems (PDS, OrgPlus) highly beneficial
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the HR Business Partner team and ensures that day-to-day activities are handled in a consistent manner
  • Develops expert knowledge of company procedures and practices, and responds to general employee policy inquiries (time and attendance, performance management process, etc.)
  • Supports CR’s onboarding program by personalizing onboarding documents, presenting weekly orientation, updating content on our new hire site, and scheduling new hire check-ins.
  • Ensures smooth exit process for departing staff by scheduling exit meetings, delivering exit survey link, creating exit checklists, and collecting company property
  • Tracks, reviews and processes independent contractor, consultant, temp, and non-core staff processes and paperwork; partners with HR Business Partners and legal on the evaluation of contracts and requests
  • Supports HR Business Partners in administering HR programs such as performance management, compensation planning, and training initiatives
  • Works with the HR Business Partners to create documents and reports including org charts and presentations
  • Reviews and completes unemployment forms
  • Manages employee records (both physical and electronic files)
  • Ad hoc projects, as needed.
