Position Overview

The Senior eCommerce Data Analyst is part of one of the technology teams responsible for designing and building software components for the delivery of web applications. The role provides strong technical analytical capability for support, growth, and innovation of our eCommerce platform that enables consumer centric product and services. The position will review and help define requirements, mine and analyze data, integrate data from a variety of sources, and participate in the design and implementation of production grade queries, reports, data feeds and services.

Qualifications Include

  1. Expert Hands-on Oracle DBA with experience in 
    • Oracle database installations on AWS (12.2 preferably with ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Data Guard)
    • Oracle security management
    • Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
    • Skills to Automate installation and creation of databases with standby configuration
    • Performance tuning - both Oracle and also operating system performance monitoring
  2. Expert in Unix Shell Scripting
  3. Expert in Oracle Sql / PlSql 
  4. Experience in development and implementation of large-scale data migrations 
  5. Solid Knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) and Exposure to newer Database technologies
  6. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related degree/experience. 
  7. In-depth knowledge of data formats standards (XML, CSV, Excel), ETL processes, data feeds, data cleansing and transformations, and reporting frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, document, test, and support database and reporting modules and components of Consumer Reports’ eCommerce system platform. 
  • Participate in team’s code review, integration, application build and deployments to QA & Staging environments.
  • Provides technical advice, guidance and informal training to team members.
  • Analyze business requirements, provide development estimates and feedback to determine implementation/execution approaches that drive development and testing tasks.
  • Work with project managers, senior and junior developers, DB administrators, network and QA teams to design and implement quality software solutions.
  • Support, troubleshoot, monitor and optimize existing system software.
  • Help streamline software development by contributing to implementation of a continual integration process, automating manual processes, and eliminating defects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned but not at a higher level.
