Position Overview

Oversees and drives CR’s fast growing affiliate revenue program to new heights, including optimizing relationships with premier ecommerce platforms and retailers.    Targets and onboards new partners, manages daily interactions with existing partners, and works with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize the consumer experience on CR’s digital platforms and CR revenue. 

Qualifications Include

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred with a minimum of three to five years of related business development experience with at least 2-3 years of that in affiliate marketing.  Must have an in-depth knowledge of digital business and affiliate revenue models.  Exceptional digital IQ and passion is a must. Must be able to effectively work with project teams to achieve goals on time and on budget.  Ability to track and analyze partner performance data required.  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, patience, humor, and the ability to work well with diverse, cross-functional teams.  Must be tech-savvy and knowledgeable about leveraging technology to build partnerships, and be proficient in affiliate program capabilities, including, revenue models, XML, APIs, etc.  Solid experience in developing strategies for effective data analysis and reporting.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office,Google Office Suite, and able to turn digital analytics into meaningful insights.  Experience with data visualization or digital dashboards (such as Tableau) is a plus. Comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in ongoing strategy and planning of existing affiliate revenue partnerships
  • Develop and recommend strategy to maintain and improve upon current relationships
  • Partner with Director, Business Development to maintain, optimize, and expand relationships with strategic business partners
  • Collaborate with Director to expand existing key partner footprint by sourcing more best-in-class partners for the affiliate revenue program to drive growth and optimize the shopping experience for consumers
  • Make balanced decisions that aggressively expand revenue but not at the expense of the independence of our brand, our nonprofit status, transparency, or the trust of our members
  • Coordinate activities with product teams, Marketing, Testing, and Content to support business development deliverables for our affiliate revenue programs
  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with existing partners to optimize CR’s affiliate program strategies and goals
  • Partner with Digital Analytics to build, maintain, analyze and disseminate monthly Business Development reports on affiliate revenue program for internal communication purposes and stakeholder review
  • Ensure contractual obligations with existing partners are being met. Maintains, reviews, and proposes revisions to contractual agreements, as needed, including on renewal
  • Work with Digital Marketing, Digital Analytics, Product Management, Social, Video and BP&A to understand, develop actionable insights, and improve revenue from key affiliate program partners
  • Develop and track metrics across channels and devices
  • May participate in other Business Development projects, as needed
