Position Overview

This role provides general support to the Strategic Communications team, which supports campaigns and day-to-day communications primarily for CR’s advocacy efforts. The Strategic Communications Associate assists the members of the team in carrying out the daily communications tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications Include

Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of experience performing communications tasks, preferably in a mission and/or content driven organization. The role requires strong writing and organizational skills, the ability to consider and synthesize many points of view, keen judgment and thoughtful and transparent decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the Senior Director and other members of the Strategic Communications team to carry out daily communications assignments, working across CR Consumer Impact Areas (CIAs).
  • Works with the senior team members to develop communications materials (e.g., press statements, talking points, social content).
  • Compiles and circulates reports that inform senior staff members of breaking news, emerging business trends, policy changes and other external factors.
  • Partners with the Core Communications function to help support strategic direction and support of media relations and thought leadership initiatives by each CIA.
  • Handles general support functions for the Strategic Communications team such as developing presentations and other documents, coordinating mailings, event planning and execution, and research.
  • Partners with Core Communications team to track media-relations metrics for CR, focusing on Consumer Policy and Mobilization related communications activities.
  • May perform other related duties as needed.
