Position Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is an essential member of the IT infrastructure team at CR. The role is responsible for providing expertise in designing, planning and the implementation of all infrastructure related projects.

Qualifications Include

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred plus 5-7 years of IT work experience in infrastructure environments performing network engineering, virtualization, storage, data center design, planning and implementation. Must have rich and diverse technical background, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills. The capacity to work well under pressure and to handle diversified day-to- day tasks is essential; able to work flexible hours with minimum supervision. Must be motivated, good team player and able to handle multiple tasks. CCNP and VMWare certification required; ITIL Foundations certification preferred.

Physical Demands: Normal physical demands associated with working in an office environment & prolonged computer usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides daily support of the infrastructure environment including LAN, WAN, wireless, remote access, unified computing, storage systems, unified communication platform
  • Performs infrastructure planning, architecture design and engineering.
  • Researches, specifies, evaluates, tests and recommends hardware and supporting software components for infrastructure systems.
  • Reviews firewall rules periodically and verifies business needs with the rule owner.
  • Responsible for performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, fault management, security management and capacity planning of the infrastructure systems.
  • Designs and implements new infrastructure technologies.
  • Monitors incident and service management queues.
  • Performs infrastructure system routine maintenance upgrades
  • Develops, creates and maintains infrastructure supporting documents
  • Responsible for administration of infrastructure systems
  • Maintains Data Center Infrastructure Management including monitoring the physical environment.
  • Works with other teams to plan, design and implement systems in a heterogeneous, distributed computing production environment.
  • Stays abreast of technological trends in the Operating System of specialty and enabling technologies.
  • May perform other duties of the department but not those of a higher level.
