  • Position Overview

    The role helps shape strategy and leads the implementation strategy of delivering quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting for a specific Consumer Impact Area within CR’s data intelligence program.

    Qualifications Include

    • 5+ years of primary research experience analyzing syndicated and custom, qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary research
    • B2B experience required, Automotive, Tech or Home Appliances experience is nice to have.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Business Administration, or other related field
    • Demonstrated success turning significant amounts of data into meaningful insights and reports through various statistical and analytical techniques
    • Familiarity with social science research methods, quantitative methods in particular. Experience working with and querying data.
    • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to analyze and communicate to clients both interpretations and actions
    • Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines with minimal oversight and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Discretion and sound judgement required.
    • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, as well as interface with external stakeholders.
    • Must be able to partner with designers to conceptualize data visualizations that maximize the comprehension and impact of CR’s unique data.
    • Ability to effectively visualize data and experience with data visualization tools a plus (e.g. Tableau, or Qlik, MS BI, Spotfire.)
    • Advanced analytics skills for business applications (e.g. segmentation)
    • Preferred - Experience working with statistical software and additional programming languages (e.g. Python, R)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partners with Director to assess areas of potential opportunities, gauge marketplace demand and determine availability and ease of data collection.
    • Leverages CR’s data to meet the needs of manufacturers, influencers, and regulatory bodies that subscribe to the data intelligence program.
    • Acts as client facing representative with external business clients, answering questions on data products and collecting feedback to guide future product development.
    • Leads cross-functional collaboration to deliver in-depth analysis by leveraging CR’s unique product testing data from assigned Consumer Impact Areas, and coupling it with external/Big Data sources.
    • Identifies trends and gleans meaningful insights that drive marketplace change, particularly as they relate to safety, consumer protection, and product improvement.
    • Works closely in collaboration with CR’s Statistics & Data Science leader as well as other key subject matter experts to ensure best practices and consistent analysis.
    • Responsible for assessing and meeting needs of Data Intelligence program clients, ensuring client satisfaction and revenue goals.
    • Drives methodology and governance to maintain data integrity and evolve reporting.
    • Supports Director, Data and Feature Design to turn analysis into digestible, visually appealing visual content.
    • Applies advanced algorithms to complex problems in real time systems and deliver concise, insightful analysis.
    • Works closely with program leadership, technology, and product management to turn data analysis into actionable algorithms and applications.
    • Oversees budget expenditures for purchases of external data sources and software licenses associated with Data Intelligence program.
    • Reviews the preparation of research by colleagues and/or mentor them on best practices.
    • May be responsible for hiring, managing, and developing staff.
    • Supports ad hoc projects, as needed.
