  • Position Overview

    The Senior QA Analyst documents the test cases based on the business requirements, and prepares and executes the test plan that covers functional, integration, data validation, browser and systems compatibility and automated testing. The role is also responsible for ensuring that the application meets the business requirements and that any potential issue is identified and fixed before deployment.

    Qualifications Include

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, Master’s Degree a plus or equivalent work experience.

    • Two to five years of IT and business experience with at least 3 years in Quality Assurance.

    • Experience executing automated and manual test plans and test scripts/cases, as well as reporting and tracking defects while performing Regression, Integration, Black Box and User Acceptance Tests (UAT) for Web (N-Tier) and Client/Serverapplications.

    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Experience with SQL scripting and automated testing tools such as Selenium.

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and well developed interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

    • Experience using Qtest, JIRA, BrowserStack, Selenium, ObservePoint and Adobe Analytics.













    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and analyze business requirements, functional and design specifications and story acceptance criteria for clarity and consistencies.
    • Develop and document detailed test cases for functional and regression testing against applications that span across various endpoints and environments.
    • Create and execute formal test plans to ensure validated deliverables meet business requirements, functional and design specifications, and story acceptance criteria.
    • Conduct Quality Assurance testing from development to product release.

    • Collaborate with automation team to integrate changes to the automation scripts when there are functional or UI changes.

    • Execute browser compatibility tests across Windows and Mac operating systems, and on various endpoints, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones using Browserstack.
    • Identify, reproduce, and report defects in the defect tracking system.

    • Verify application defects, and validate all issues are resolved and closed in a timely manner.

    • Collaborate with developers, business staff or other project team members to troubleshoot issues

      as required.

    • Work on projects that span across teams, platforms, and systems.

    • Participate in all meetings, including the daily scrum, sprint planning, review and retrospective, and actively engage in all team activities.
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise (subject matter expert) relative to Consumer Reports systems and its processes.
    • Recommend improvements to Quality Assurance processes to team.
    • Provide status updates to Manager.

    • Write and execute SQL queries against database systems using IDE tools.

    • Performs other duties as assigned but not those of a higher level
