We will also be evaluating the criteria used by municipalities to see if it meets current standards and developing a water ratings system.

    Qualifications Include

Candidates should be skilled researchers, able to assess current test methodologies, gather data, and analyze results.  Familiarity with environmental standards and water testing preferred.  This is a 6 month assignment suttable for a currently enrolled Masters student.

    Key Responsibilities

Assess current methodologies to test (parameters, frequency, and uniformity) and communicate water safety to consumers (mail, web/social media, public service announcements, etc.)

Where they exist, evaluate the adequacy of existing ratings systems to evaluate water safety and identify potential gaps.

Identify potential gaps and opportunities in current practice;  identify and prioritize potential contaminants and determining safe levels, if any exist.

Work with CR experts to develop a rigorous definition and testable standard of drinkable water and compare this proposed standard to present standards.  Identify where this new standard would be an improvement.
