  • Position Overview

    The Manager, Consumer Data Platform will work with external vendors and cross-functional teams to maintain, enhance and ensure the quality of Consumer Report’s Customer Data Hub (CDH). The individual will need to collaborate with marketing, IT, data security, legal, finance and other internal groups as necessary.

     

    The Manager will lead the CDH Platform team to ensure that all CDH Platform data is accurate and up to date via robust audit procedures and processes and management of external vendors and internal partners. The ideal candidate for this position is one with a proven history in marketing and vendor management and who has successfully managed externally hosted CRM and marketing database systems. This position requires hands-on experience in coordinating the creation, maintenance and utilization of the marketing/CRM databases as well as effectively socializing marketing database/CRM best practices.

    Qualifications Include

    • B.A. or B.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS or an equivalent degree
    • 5+ years experience in Marketing Technology/CRM, preferably in the media industry
    • 5+ years proven project and vendor management experience
    • 5+ years working within a on marketing teams supporting CRM systems
    • Thorough knowledge of SQL and relational databases
    • Must understand the nuances of data types and the importance of business rules, concise specifications, up to date documentation and data accuracy and how it relates to marketing objectives
    • Deep expertise of Marketing and CRM systems
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Ability to work with all business divisions in a proactive manner and drive results
    • Team player; ability to work with and lead a diverse set of professionals
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent prioritization skills and attention to detail
    • Strong computer skills for all relevant applications including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong business requirements gathering/analysis skills 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with external database vendors and internal partners to maintain and utilize Consumer Reports’ CDH Platform
    • Collaborate on and socialize the CDH Platform roadmap for maintenance and feature enhancement
    • Design, spec out and coordinate implementation of new features and functionality within the CDH Platform
    • Manage CDH vendor’s to ensure timely delivery of requested features, changes and enhancements
    • Ensure that the CDH Platform is accurate and complete by designing and implementing audit and troubleshooting systems and methodology
    • Manage and mentor the CDH Platform team and ensure that the vendor and team comply with standard audit and maintenance procedures
    • Collaborate on the development of RFPs (Request for Proposal) for new systems as necessary
    • Perform other related duties as required
