  • Position Overview

    The data intelligence program brings in critical revenue to support CR’s mission-oriented work while simultaneously driving upstream market impact to improve product safety, reliability, and innovation for consumers. The Data Intelligence group at CR mines testing, consumer insights, and survey research data to create new data products and subscription services for manufacturers, regulators and researchers in various industries including automotive, appliances and technology.

     

    The Data Intelligence Analyst will leverage data, information management tools, subject matter experts and competitive intelligence to develop critical analyses that will be used to support enterprise-wide strategic decision making at manufacturers, service providers, regulators and researchers.

    Qualifications Include

    Bachelors’ degree (Business, Infomatics, or Data Science), graduate work preferable (MBA, MLS); at least 2-3 years of experience in a data, analytics or research environment. Excellent skills in managing large amounts of data, extracting, transforming and loading data, and exploring, mining and graphing data. Knowledge of SQL or Python desired. Understanding and ability to conduct statistical analysis preferred. Exceptional writing skills and the ability to turn data into narrative content that is appealing to a wide variety of audiences is required.  The ability to organize data and information into client-useable formats is beneficial, as is experience synthesizing and analyzing data, and interpreting data into recommendations and actions. Ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Delivers the data, research, analysis and recommendation needs of the Data Intelligence Program with a focus on providing insights through reports or analytics dashboards for external audiences (manufacturers, regulatory bodies, researchers, service providers, etc.).
    • Works closely in collaboration with CR’s Statistics & Data Science leader as well as other key subject matter experts to ensure best practices and consistent analyses.
    • Makes Consumer Reports mission, vision and strategic plan the lens through which research is conducted and recommendations are made.
    • Contributes to the development of Tableau dashboards and in partnership with department, supports data collection and dissemination.
    • Partners with key liaisons on the collection, aggregation, and analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business actions.
    • Provides reporting solutions and respond to ad-hoc report requests, leveraging team resources to prepare comprehensive analysis using the optimal data sources
    • Performs other duties as assigned but not those of a higher level.
