• Associate Director, New Ventures & Product Marketing

  • Position Overview

    The Associate Director partners with the Director of New Ventures & Product to help shape new products, create market tests and build go to market strategies.  This role will identify, evaluate, recommend and pilot new business opportunities with the goal of expanding CR’s reach & growing and diversifying our revenue streams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead go to market strategy for new products, new features, partners & benefits.  Oversees the development of marketing tests for new products.
    • Leverages consumer insights, competitive intelligence and market research to strategically position and differentiate new CR product offerings.
    • Develops market positioning and writes copy for new products, features and benefits.  Determines and measures marketing campaign KPIs.
    • Partners with Director, other stakeholders to lead ideation sessions (internal, external) and develops concepts informed by consumer and marketplace insights for new consumer solutions that have high revenue potential.
    • Leads business opportunity teams to qualitatively assess, vet high priority concepts for financial attractiveness, operational viability, consumer appeal, etc.
    • Responsible for prioritizing opportunities based on above assessments & presenting strategic opportunities to CR’s new ventures leadership team.  Takes a leadership role on select strategic priorities for CR.
    • Partners with key stakeholders to develop prototypes and market test plans designed to validate concepts.
    • Designs business and go to market plans high priority initiatives and helps develop and launch market pilots.
    • Partners with Director to improve and evolve the strategic innovation process to balance strategic rigor and the pace in which opportunities are identified and brought to market.
    • Evaluates and communicates current performance of our New Ventures Pipeline to Senior Management
    • Makes Consumer Reports mission, vision and strategic plan the lens through which research is conducted and recommendations are made.
    • Prepares reports and presents to executive teams, as needed.

    Qualifications Include

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Economics, or Business Strategy; MBA preferred
    • A minimum of eight to ten years of business strategy and innovation experience, including developing strategic frameworks, analyzing and synthesizing data, and problem-solving 
    • Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong visualization skills and good understanding of UX in relation to visualization
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present ideas and build consensus with stakeholders
    • Ability to persuade internal stakeholders, using a data-driven, strategic approach.
    • Strong collaborator, with excellent ability to partner with leadership and other stakeholders
