  • Position Overview

    The Accounting Analyst is responsible for accurately performing general accounting tasks which may include: account analysis, reconciliations, budget variance analysis, sales tax returns, etc. with minimum supervision.

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Responsible for recording of properly supported monthly journal entries.
    • Performs analysis / reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts and provides adequate supporting documentation of the activity and the ending balance of the accounts.
    • Maintains a good understanding of assigned accounts and the governing accounting principles.
    • Reviews assigned sections of the monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy including:
    • Analyzes monthly results vs. budget, identifies and determines the cause of variances.
    • Works with other departments to gain understanding of variances and ensure accurate reporting.
    • Identifies researches and suggests possible resolutions of issues / errors.
    • Responsible for monthly sales tax compilation and submissions on a timely basis
    • Administration of T&E including:
    • Reviews email-box, responds to questions.
    • Works with Employees to resolve issues on a timely basis.
    • Sets up/removes new/terminated employees, maintain Ghost Card Group.
    • Processes Cash Advance related item; reconciles related GL accounts.
    • Tracks and reports issues and suggest ideas to resolve and achieve efficiencies.
    • Participates in monthly T&E Support and Admin meetings to present system issues and unresolved employee issues to the team.
    • May assist with tax reports as needed.
    • May be assigned other duties in the department but not those of a higher group.

     

    Qualifications Include

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business plus a minimum of three years of accounting experience with a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, or equivalent experience.
    • Must be computer savvy with a strong knowledge of Excel. TM1 and Oracle experience a plus.
    • Publishing accounting experience a plus.
