The Accounting Analyst is responsible for accurately performing general accounting tasks which may include: account analysis, reconciliations, budget variance analysis, sales tax returns, etc. with minimum supervision.
Responsible for recording of properly supported monthly journal entries.
Performs analysis / reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts and provides adequate supporting documentation of the activity and the ending balance of the accounts.
Maintains a good understanding of assigned accounts and the governing accounting principles.
Reviews assigned sections of the monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy including:
Analyzes monthly results vs. budget, identifies and determines the cause of variances.
Works with other departments to gain understanding of variances and ensure accurate reporting.
Identifies researches and suggests possible resolutions of issues / errors.
Responsible for monthly sales tax compilation and submissions on a timely basis
Administration of T&E including:
Reviews email-box, responds to questions.
Works with Employees to resolve issues on a timely basis.
