  • Position Overview

    The HR Business Partner provides generalist support for assigned client groups and serves as a trusted advisor and business/thought partner to management on employee relations, talent management, employee development & engagement, and organization effectiveness. The HRBP is committed to building a diverse workforce and accelerating the performance, growth and development of CR and its employees. This role contributes to shaping talent strategies and enterprise-wide initiatives that aim to engage, align, develop and retain talent to achieve CR’s strategic goals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides human resources generalist support with an emphasis on organizational effectiveness and design, employee relations and engagement, performance management, talent assessment and development, and contributes to shaping the culture and facilitating new ways of working together.
    • Builds effective relationships with staff at all levels.  Serves as a key business partner to management and a trusted advisor and coach to all staff.
    • Partners with Director, Senior HRBP, and management to continuously ensure talent is optimized, resources are aligned with strategic goals and priorities, and departments/teams are organized effectively to execute CR’s strategy.
    • Identifies and leverages opportunities to develop and engage staff in service of CR’s strategic plan
    • Maintains an effective level of business and functional knowledge to proactively influence, and implement change
    • Contribute to efforts to build and retain a diverse, high performing workforce.
    • Delivers appropriate coaching and development feedback to help managers become more effective and progressive leaders and understand their role in enhancing the employee experience.
    • Partners with HR specialists in talent acquisition, talent development, labor relations, and total rewards to provide talent solutions to attract, onboard, develop and retain talent.
      • Works with talent acquisition to identify, assess, select and onboard talent.
      • Partners with talent development to design and deliver customized training and organization-wide learning programs for individuals and teams.
      • Serves as program lead for assigned client group for performance management, goal setting and compensation planning, including facilitating communications, training, coaching, and process/system support.
      • Collaborates with labor relations expert to anticipate, avoid and resolve labor and employee relations challenges/grievances at the individual and organizational levels.
      • Works with compensation expert to implement salary planning and recognition programs, and develops job descriptions for new, existing, and promotional opportunities.

    Qualifications Include

    • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of HR generalist experience ideally in a media, publishing or other creative organization.
    • Adaptable, analytical and creative with strong communication skills.  Able to present information and support decision making through effective data analysis and storytelling capabilities.
    • Strong HR and business acumen with demonstrated success serving as a true HR business partner to leadership and trusted advisor to staff.
    • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.  Ability to quickly establish and build effective partnering relationships, maintain confidences, appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information, and inspire trust.
    • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and lead and work with urgency in the midst of a significant business/organizational transformation.
    • Demonstrated success developing and implementing talent strategies that support culture, acquisition/retention, diversity, and other organizational goals.
    • Strong technical skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite.
