  • Position Overview

    The data intelligence program brings in critical revenue to support CR’s mission-oriented work while simultaneously driving upstream market impact to improve product safety, reliability, and innovation for consumers. The Data Intelligence group at CR mines testing, consumer insights, and survey research data to create new data products and subscription services for manufacturers, regulators and researchers in various industries including automotive, appliances and technology.


    The Solutions Manager will support the delivery of the product roadmap by leveraging data science to build, enhance and expand product offerings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Leads specific roadmap planning for Data Intelligence program initiatives including product/platform management, translating client feedback into product enhancements and new product launches, and determining best way to deliver insights to businesses, NGOs, and government agencies.Creates and executes data strategies that leverage advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques.
    • Partners with Director to expand product to all of CR’s consumer impact areas, particularly cars and tires, home and appliances, technology, and health.
    • Partners with the account management team to understand the needs of manufacturers, influencers, and regulatory bodies, then helps develop products to satisfy them.
    • Works closely with data scientists, technical product development, project management and IT staff to ensure clear priorities and target segment needs.
    • Identifies opportunities to leverage CR’s data, as well as integrate external/big data to create robust insights tools.
    • Monitors the competitive landscape and industry trends to inform the product development strategy.
    • Helps ensure program KPIs including revenue goals are met on time and within budget.
    • Successfully partners with the cross-functional product team, and communicates and collaborates effectively with all stakeholders.

    Qualifications Include

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in data science, information science, math or related field; advanced degree preferred
    • A minimum of five years of experience in B2B environment supporting large scale data products with a focus on leveraging data insights through meaningful analysis.
    • Demonstrated success translating client needs and goals to generate thoughtful, creative proposals that exceed customer expectations and expand revenue opportunities.
    • Demonstrated success analyzing data to support storytelling and insights.
    • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, operate effectively in dynamic environment, and rigorously prioritize initiatives based on business objectives
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as the ability to navigate a matrixed structure and build consensus among stakeholders..
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels, influence, and drive results..
    • Ability to effectively visualize data and experience with data visualization tools a plus (e.g. Tableau, or Qlik, MS BI, Spotfire.)
    • Experience with multiple data sets (e.g. consumer survey data, transactional data, unstructured data) is a plus
    • Experience in automotive, tech, appliances industries are a plus
    • Experience in market research or data analytics firms a plus
    • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office products. (Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word) to summarize complex analyses for varied audiences
