Manager, Security


Position Overview

Responsible for safety and security of all staff and visitors, and the safeguarding of CR’s assets.  Manages contract security staff and oversees maintenance operations. Ensures the ongoing effectiveness of enterprise-wide security and related operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages contract and proprietary security operations and supervises contract and proprietary staff.
  • Reviews, recommends and establishes security policies, as well as researches and selects security systems.
  • Conducts daily inspections of loading dock and surrounding area and ensures that delivered goods are received by the close of the business day.
  • Develops and communicates evacuation procedures.
  • Manages photo needs for new employee ID cards, bulletin board and intranet posting including issuing cards to new employees.   Also replaces lost or defective cards.
  • Conducts security orientation lectures relative to the access control system and property pass procedures.
  • Provides security support related to employee separations.
  • Provides security and logistical support for special events and high profile visitors.
  • Maintains visitors pass records.
  • Performs research and recovery of incidents housed on the video recorder hard drive.
  • Monitors operability of CCTV and access control systems, both locally and remotely for national office sites, including research and recovery of incidents housed on the video recorder hard drive.
  • Ensures all systems are functioning properly.
  • Produces reports as needed on any defective patrol checkpoints.
  • Responsible for training and performance of guards.
  • Manage Grounds staff and vendors in maintaining and repairing grounds equipment, systems, fleet vehicles and exterior grounds.
    • Maintain maintenance schedule and inspection records for all work, systems and vehicles.
    • Preventive maintenance and seasonal preparation for all equipment, vehicles and Garage Facility.
    • Scheduling tasks and ensuring all areas are in good repair including but not limited to: trees, planting & beds / lawns / parking areas / walkways / interior plantings / snow removal / shuttle services / exterior furnishings / patio / irrigation systems / athletic field / exterior events.
    • Evaluate performance and ensure all work is compliant and completed.
    • Coordinate special activities such as photo shoots, health fairs, event set up, and special vehicle accommodations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include

Associates degree or equivalent required plus 5 years law enforcement and/or corporate security experience required.  NYS licensed Security Officer with certification in First Aid, CPR and AED required.  Must be able to handle emergency high-pressure situations.  Needs to be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to interact well with all organizational levels.  Microsoft office required.

Physical Demands: May include, frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50-80 pounds.
