Consumer Products Testing Lead

The Opportunity

Consumer Reports is looking for a Test Project Leader.  In this role, you will lead, plan and execute product testing following Consumer Reports’ gold standard test procedures. You will apply your STEM background to develop testing methodologies, come up with innovative new ideas and improvements to enhance testing appliances and home improvement products for years to come. 




What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee multiple consumer product testing projects.
  • Develop test procedures, work instructions and ensures proper implementation/training of technicians
  • Create test reports and ensure that test results meet established standards for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility and dependability.
  • Support the achievement of metric/KPI goals as part of overseeing the performance of assigned projects
  • First in line to address testing issues that need immediate attention by employing temporary counter measures followed by permanent solutions if required
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing test procedures
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Actively participate as a member of a product testing team, conferring with other team members as necessary to ensure objectives for quality and timeliness are met.
  • Ensures quality of test projects and strives for continuous quality improvement by celebrating successes and reducing errors.

About You

  • You have a BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience in addition to 3 years of experience in consumer product testing or operations.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering softwares a plus (E.g. Appian, LabVIEW) and proficiency in the use of MS Excel
  • Proficiency in testing techniques and practices as well as working knowledge of hardware and software for data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with National Instruments equipment is very beneficial.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and compiling data.
