The Opportunity

This position will be supporting the automation of the labs and calibration program in Lab Operations.  The process includes installing, supporting and troubleshooting Data Acquisition systems and designing test equipment in the labs.  In addition to the above, this  position will support consumer product testing and the implementation of a new data platform as needed.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate and install data acquisition systems
  • Support maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Design and help to build test equipment and develop methods to accomplish goals defined by test protocols as required
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing test procedure
  • Create data collection and analysis tools in Appian, Excel, and LabVIEW
  • Develop new test protocols and ensure proper documentation
  • Ensure that test data meets established standards for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility and dependability
  • Research new test procedures, and evaluate and recommend improvements to existing test procedures
  • First in line to address testing issues that need immediate attention by employing temporary counter measures followed by permanent solutions if required
  • Support consumer product testing as needed. 

About You

    • B.S. Degree in relevant discipline required. Engineering/Computer Science degree preferred
    • Experience developing automated test and measurement systems using National Instruments LabVIEW
    • Excellent computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SQL, Appian, Python
    • Experience with communication protocols (ModBus, Serial, I2C, etc) 
    • Knowledge of comparative testing of consumer goods a plus
