THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director of Campaigns & Consumer Engagement will develop campaign and community engagement strategies that raise awareness and action around consumer issues and strengthen and grow CR’s member base by engaging new audiences. You will lead a strong team of champions to deliver impact for consumers through targeted outreach strategies and implement events and activations that empower members to be leaders in advocating for change within our focus areas of digital rights, financial fairness, safety and sustainability.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead a team focused on growing engagement of existing and potential members.
  • Identify and implement new models and methods to deepen and scale consumer engagement, building on new approaches to crowdsourced research, local organizing and engagement events.
  • Create campaign plans and strategies, mobilization efforts and organizing, and engagement to raise awareness and action around key consumer issues.
  • Develop and coach subject matter expertise within the team.
  • Identify and deliver on key metrics that ladder up to organizational goals, including growth in online activists, engaged volunteer activists, and influencers. 
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure we maximize all of our resources, coordinate our efforts and leverage each campaign to the fullest extent possible.
  • Identify and implement new models and methods to deepen and scale consumer engagement, building on new approaches to crowdsourced research, local organizing and engagement events. 
  • Develop staffing and budget proposals.

 

ABOUT YOU

What We Must See

 

  • 10+ years experience directing campaigns, mobilization, community organizing efforts for a nonprofit or political organization.
  • Strong management, team building and supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated wins in legislative and/or marketplace campaigns.
  • Experience identifying and implementing innovative approaches in campaigning and engagement including integration of digital and social media tools.
  • Demonstrated strategy and communication skills in crafting high visibility campaigns that have raised awareness about impact issues.
  • Established connections with other consumer organizations, advocacy groups, and political organizations.
