The AI/ML Engineer will suport data-driven decision-making at CR by providing new insights to business from data through the use of modern data technologies and applied data science.  Collaborating with the cross functioning teams and translating business challenges to specific data science problems with measurable outcomes will be key.  She/He will add value by augementing new insights from internal/exernal data sets to elevate our memebership offering for audience growth and power new business opportunities with speed and scale.


Under our CRFlex program, this position is eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C. 


As an AI/ML Engineer, you will support data-driven decision-making at Consumer Reports. You will proactively provide actionable insights for our business to be relevant to our customers & marketplace and drive audience growth. You will add value by providing new insights from internal/external data sets to understand what’s trending and inform what content we need to increase the breadth, speed, and relevance of coverage. You will collaborate with cross-functioning teams and translate business challenges to specific data science problems with measurable outcomes and solve them through the use of modern data technologies and applied data science.


As a AI/ML Engineer you will:

  • Analyze business requirements from cross functional teams and translate to technical data science problems.
  • Optimize machine learning models for performance and scalability and deploys them into production to ensure repeatable and dependable operation.
  • Automate the machine learning pipeline, from data ingestion to prediction generation.
  • Collaborate with business, product and engineering teams to build end-to-end data science pipelines.
  • Gather data from various sources and assess business utility.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature-engineering/selection.
  • Apply data science techniques to get insights out of data.
  • Build, deploy, and tune Machine Learning models.
  • Develop prototypes and  visuals to illustrate insights.


You’ll Be Highly Rated If:

  • You have  Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, technology, engineering or related field
  • You have 5 or more years of professional experience working in Data Science, AI/ML projects
  • You have strong foundations in Computer Science, Math, Probability, Statistics, Machine Learning, Image Processing, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts
  • You are in expert in Python, SQL, Unix, Scripting, and Jupyter Notebooks
  • You have experience building data visualization using Tableau
  • You have experience building data science pipelines in cloud (AWS)
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with business and technology

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $115k to $170k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
