CR’s Print Design team marries design and data to create visually compelling stories for the more than 3.6 million members that receive our monthly magazine, special interest publications and Health Newsletter.
As Associate Art Director, you will report to the Director, Design and partner with other art directors , our editors, photo editors and external illustrators to create designs and layouts that complement our award winning journalism.
Under our CR Flex program, this is a hybrid position that is eligible for remote work.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
Your design talents and passion for championing consumer’s rights will be valued in this highly collaborative and creative role. Projects will include layouts and designs for both the front and the back of the book and as needed, work on feature articles, special interest auto publications and our weekly and monthly newsletters. You’ll also get to put your project management skills to best use assisting the Director, Design with hiring external illustrators, scheduling meetings and managing invoices from time to time. You may also work on feature articles, special interest auto publications and weekly and monthly health newsletter and assist the Director, Design with hiring external illustrators, scheduling meetings and managing invoices as needed.

Our Commitment to Fair Pay:
At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $77,000-$90,000. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. Salary ranges for union positions are determined by collective bargaining agreement with the NewsGuild of New York.
