OVERVIEW

CR is currently seeking a Policy Analyst (Fintech) to join our Advocacy team! As a Policy Analyst you will identify, research, recommend and help initiate actions on relevant policy issues. The Policy Analyst will develop, analyze and respond to regulatory and legislative proposals on cutting-edge financial technology products and services, ranging from cryptocurrencies, to digital payments and lending and use artificial intelligence in financial transactions and services. Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position and is eligible for remote work up to 90%. The successful candidate must reside within 75 miles of one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC).

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

How You'll Make An Impact:

In this role you will examine how the use of financial technology - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, embedded finance and large tech entities' involvement in payment processing and other financial activities, blockchain-based products- affect financial services, consumers and the marketplace. Writing materials exploring and explaining these issues to a variety of audiences supporting CR positions; and working with the Senior Counsel, Director of Financial Fairness, staff, and partners to develop and implement strategies to ensure consumers have agency over their financial data and to ensure responsible fintech innovation.

 

ABOUT YOU

You’ll Be Highly Rated If:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years experience working with Congress or executive branch as well as legislative experience working in or as an advocate before Congress.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills required to work with individuals, groups and organizations across the political spectrum to build relationships.
  • You have strong analytical, communications and lobbying skills.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of fintech and its intersection with and integration into banking and consumer finance.

You'll be one of our top picks if:

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $80k to $100k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
