OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a dynamic, curious and data-hungry digital business development pro with a growth mindset to identify, negotiate, execute and manage a complex portfolio of new and existing partnerships across areas including digital content distribution, member benefits, co-marketing, and shopping.

As Associate Director, Business Development & Partnerships, you will report to the General Manager, Shopping & Business Development. Under our CRFlex program, this position can be eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Partnerships are a critical pillar in CR’s long term strategy. The partners you will identify allow us to fill gaps consumers face in the marketplace, offer avenues to find and reach the new audiences we’re seeking, have consumer-friendly solutions to bring to our members, and generate revenue. When these services are combined with CR’s best-in-class consumer-education resources to provide consumers with essential and independent guidance, they can be best situated to navigate the plethora of confusing choices they’re regularly faced with.

 

In this role you will focus on helping us grow B2B revenue streams and partnerships to drive paid memberships.  You will also:

  • You will own the end-to-end process.
  • Research the competition within key market landscapes
  • Bringpotential partners to light
  • Handle contract negotiations as well as serving as point of contact for each partnership once you’ve closed the deal.

  • You have the experience. You’ve done hands-on business development work with closed deals to show for it for at least 5 years
  • You bring a successful track record.  You’ve structured, negotiated and executed deals in a high-growth environment 
  • You are consumer-focused.  You have a deep passion for ensuring that consumers have everything they need to make an informed decision as they are the most powerful change makers of all 
  • You’re a self-starter.  You are motivated, creative and collaborative while managing multiple priorities and initiatives. 
  • You have experience with using new technology to do business and possess an in-depth knowledge of digital business models and platforms
  • You can connect the dots.  You are a strategic thinker with an eye for identifying opportunities and understand how to connect ideas to align with business strategy
  • You are data-driven and use what you learn to drive business decisions
  • You’re great at partner relationship management and have a demonstrated ability to optimize existing partnerships, including identifying new features and revenue opportunities
  • You have the educational background, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business.
  • You understand the tools of the trade.  ​​You are proficient with business productivity, communication and analytics tools including GSuite, JIRA, Slack, Adobe Analytics and Microsoft Office

  • You can facilitate and communicate cross-functionally to ensure alignment, consistent development and execution of strategies
  • You can troubleshoot and problem solve, alone or in conjunction with internal and external teams.
  • You understand the market landscape. You’re constantly analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and member needs to identify revenue growth opportunities.

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $160K to $175K. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
