OVERVIEW

CR is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to join our Research and Analytics team! This Sr Data Scientist is responsible for leading data synthesis and analysis for all external facing products and content, in partnership with multiple CR teams. This role will take a leadership role in identifying and prioritizing the department’s and organization’s data analysis needs, and offer and execute innovative approaches to developing new products and insights. It also requires cross-divisional collaboration with various stakeholders to acquire and synthesize data, understand both internal and external analytic and product development goals, and communicate and package potential solutions effectively.   

 

Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position and is eligible for remote work up to 90%. The successful candidate must reside within 75 miles of one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester CT).

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As Senior Data Scientist you will be responsible for supporting data and analytics-driven research and product development at Consumer Reports, using advanced data science models & statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques, you will leverage and synthesize data from various sources to enable decision-making. You will be exploring new opportunities in our data, driving new data science techniques against the data and enabling CR teams to gain insights.

The Senior Data Scientist will act as an agent for change in democratizing data by mentoring and training analysts, junior researchers, data scientists and engineers and the growth and development of the team and the organization. 

ABOUT YOU

You’ll Be Highly Rated If:

  • You have a Masters or PHD -  in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field. 
  • You have a minimum of six years of experience - in applied data science with a focus on product and solutions development.
  • You have experience in the following:
    • R studio, python, dataiku or databricks
    • AI/ML NLP, LLM, Neural Networks and transformers, Recommendation engine
    • data science pipeline including sparks and kubernetes
  • You have the ability to tackle AI/ML use cases - as part of a cross-functional team consisting of data scientists, researchers and business users
  • You have deep understanding- of the state-of-the-art in AI/ML and enterprise implementation
  • You have superior data wrangling skills
  • You are able to think outside the box -  you have the ability to be successful when ideal inputs are not available

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $120k to $140k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
