OVERVIEW

The Associate Director, Corporate Engagement (Digital Marketplace) is responsible for leading our upstream impact corporate strategy in the digital marketplace which includes fintech, digital rights and ecommerce safety. You’ll work directly with companies to implement our pro-consumer recommendations to make the marketplace fairer, safer and more sustainable. This will include devising campaign strategies, managing corporate relationships, creating materials to suit various audiences at the target companies and collaborating with internal teams such as advocacy, content, and testing.

 

 

Under our CRFlex program, this position is eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

This role will devise winning strategies to incentivize corporations to adopt digital marketplace policies for fairness, safety and digital rights.  You will develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at corporations to create marketplace change in the assigned sectors of the digital marketplace.  As Associate Director,  Corporate Engagement, you will build a tracking system to effectively monitor progress on corporate engagement and work with internal stakeholders to set priorities within our evaluative frameworks (Fair Digital Finance Framework)  that corporations can be successfully encouraged to adopt delivering meaningful change for consumers.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll Be Highly Rated If:

  • You have at least 7 years relevant experience engaging with stakeholders for corporate policy change on one or more of the following issues: financial fairness, privacy, AI, ecommerce, digital platform policy, or product safety.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of building consensus with stakeholders across disciplines and interests to win change on behalf of consumers.
  • You have the ability to influence colleagues and lead projects in a horizontal relationship.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of governance and decision making practices necessary to win corporate policy change.
  • You have a working knowledge of CRM systems to develop and manage a tracking system for corporate contracts.

You'll Be One of Our Top Picks If:

  • You have a working knowledge of governmental, regulatory and legislative processes to coordinate with our lobbyists and recognize the difference between opportunities to pull the levers of corporate change and governmental change.
  • You have experience working with or in a newsroom or working knowledge of journalistic practices to support coordination with the Consumer Reports content team.
  • You have a successful track record managing staff (this position will not have staff reporting to it immediately but likely will when headcount grows for the Corporate Strategy and Engagement department).

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $150k to $160K. This posted range is reflective of the NY/CA market. Offers may vary for candidates hired in other locations. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
