The Engineer/Analyst will support CR's work to increase the consumer voice and consumer-focused analysis in policy, corporate engagement, and media efforts around safety issues related to cars and the more than 15,000 types of products consumers use every day. This position will cover current and future new car safety design and technology (including self-driving and all other levels of automation), car and product defects, and the safety design of furniture, generators, children’s products, toys, and much more. The Engineer/Analyst can be located in our Washington, D.C.; Yonkers, NY; or San Francisco, CA office.

CR's next Senior Writer/Editor Auto, is a seasoned automotive journalist who loves cars, understands the auto industry and knows how to communicate that from a consumer's point of view. We are seeking a highly skilled data engineer to join us in building a business intelligence data systems from ground up. The engineer will design and establish the analytics database; The engineer will analyze various internal and external data sources and develop the data pipelines and ETLs to feed the databases systematically using modern Data-Engineering technologies.
Since CR’s inception in 1936, research has been one of the principal means through which the organization identifies and addresses consumer needs and pain points.
The Chief Research Officer will lead and manage CR’s principal research activities (survey research, statistics, market analysis, and consumer engagement) to help inform our priorities and and maintain CR’s position as the preeminent authority on consumer needs and behaviors.
As an expert and senior adviser to CR’s leadership and staff, the Chief Research Officer will oversee many research functions directly - including those that generate research content for CR’s print and digital products and inform its policy and advocacy efforts such as our survey and statistics teams - as well as working with research teams across the organization. The Sr. User Experience Researcher on the Consumer Insights team is responsible for leading qualitative user research initiatives that inform critical decisions for current and future Consumer Reports digital products. Will work closely with cross-product teams to design and execute exploratory field studies with users and subject-matter experts. Additionally, will plan, select, and conduct usability analyses in the field or using remote tools. This person will draw upon years of experience conducting user research and their knowledge of design principles to conduct various types of usability inspections -- identifying key issues that are likely to arise within and across our products.
