Consumer Reports, the nonprofit advocacy organization, has long served as a trusted partner to consumers as they navigate the marketplace. With the digital era, CR has expanded its focus on the emerging, often unseen, consumer harms we face today. Now it is launching a new Digital Lab to greatly expand this work -- investigating, testing and reporting on the technology platforms and services we have come to rely on, and the increasingly connected world of products we live in, in order to support consumers’ rights in the digital era. The Digital Lab will help frame CR’s advocacy for consumers, from the data security and privacy issues of our day, to the broader issues of technology market competition, transparency, and consumer choice.
The Associate Director, Strategic Communications will be responsible for leading CR’s communications programs across technology and privacy, including the Digital Lab initiative. Partnering across CR’s divisions to drive marketplace change, the incumbent will define and execute long-term communications strategies, collaborate on devising thought leadership and mobilization-driven campaigns, and drive the day-to-day communications work.

The Community Manager for Digital Communications develops and executes an online and social media strategy that amplifies CR’s mission in the marketplace, identifies opportunities to engage with influentials and protects CR’s reputation as an independent, nonprofit organization. Serving on the Communications team and as a core member of CR’s distributed social media teams, this individual works to build CR’s brand to advance marketplace change in part by creating strategies that enable CR experts and executives to develop their social media profiles. In addition, this role is responsible for CR’s presence across third-party sites, including Wikipedia, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Google Knowledge Graph, etc.
The Community Manager of Digital Communications must be adept at working in a highly matrixed organization as well as focusing on both immediate and long-term strategic needs. H/she will regularly seize on, or respond to, real-time opportunities to maximize impact and analyze quantitative and qualitative metrics to advance efforts.

This position serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership on labor and employee relations matters, determining strategic objectives and priorities. In partnership with the General Counsel’s office, this person will provide expertise and guidance to senior leadership and HR business partners on complex and/or highly sensitive employee and labor relations issues. Responsible for both the daily relationship and collective bargaining agreements with our labor union, the Director is the principle contact on resolving grievances and arbitrations. A specialist in employee relations and policies, this position collaborates in the formulation and implementation of CR policy and long-range HR strategy, priorities and plans and interacts regularly with outside legal counsel on the resolution of labor/legal issues.
Responsible for the overall management of web and mobile assigned projects of an Agile team charged with designing and building software components for the delivery of data-centric products to clients of Consumer Reports Data Intelligence. Additionally, you would be responsible for coordination across departments/divisions, status monitoring and reporting, and the stability of these web and mobile projects.

And with those changes comes new conveniences, but also new concerns about safety and the impact on our environment. CR’s next In-Depth Reporter, Auto, is a seasoned journalist who understands how the car industry works and, through investigative reporting, can tell consumers how these changes will directly affect them.
We're looking for someone who can generate original enterprise content, across all of our digital, print, social and video platforms, that is highly engaging and on-strategy, on-time and well-packaged. You will also assist with idea generation while managing your workflow across CR's multimedia products. Above all, this reporter will know how to dig deep into a topic to uncover the stories that no one else is.
